Coho Salmon
Chinock Salmon

Chinock (or King) Salmon are truely the kings of the salmon world.  They are the largest of the salmon species and maybe the most sot after!  They average about 30 pounds.  50 pounds is considered a trophy, except on the Keni river where 75 pounds is a trophy!

Silver Salmon will give the king a run for it's money on the most sot after salmon.  Because they are so much more plentiful, they may have a case.  They average around 10 pounds, a trophy is considered anything over 16 pounds.

Humpy Salmon are probably the most plentiful of salmon.  They are quite a bite smaller and probably not as tasty as the other trout, but if you are going to smoke them, there isn't a lot of difference.  They average about 5 pounds and anything over 10 pounds would be considered a trophy.

Sockeye salmon are considered by most to be the best eating.  To see their deep pink meat it easy to see why.  Sockeye rarely will rarely take bait or a lure.  Most are snagged, so they lose some of their luster as a sport fish.  They are about like a silver, maybe a little smaller.
